Water Testing
IS YOUR WATER SAFE TO DRINK?
Regardless of the age, size or location of your rainwater tank, the Australian Drinking Water Guidelines (ADWG) recommend that regular sampling and testing is performed to ensure that the water does not contain harmful levels of bacteria. Bacteria in drinking water is one of the main causes of many gastrointestinal illnesses.
The Drinking Water Testing Bundle tests the water sample for the following:
- E. coli
- Thermotolerant Coliforms
- Heterotrophic bacteria
Thermotolerant coliforms (or alternatively, E.coli) should NOT be found in drinking water. Heterotrophic bacterial counts may indicate any degradation in water treatment efficacy.
Brewlab can also test water from other sources such as bore water, creeks, dams etc.
Water is tested in specialist water testing laboratories in Tasmania, Victoria, New South Wales and Western Australia.
